About this tool

Kanban Board — Free, No Signup, 100% Private, Starts in Seconds

Runs in your browser
No install or signup
Free forever

Mini Kanban is a free, browser-based kanban board that requires no signup, no account, and no credit card. Open it and your first project is ready immediately — no onboarding, no workspace setup. All data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB and never uploaded anywhere.

Multiple projects, one board. Switch between projects using the dropdown in the header. Each project has its own columns, tasks, and archived items, completely isolated from others. Every project starts with four columns — To Do, In Progress, Done, and Saved. Add unlimited custom columns for stages like Blocked, In Review, or Deployed. Rename or delete columns using the caret dropdown on each column header.

Rich text description editor. Every task has a full rich text editor — not just a plain text area. Use the toolbar to apply bold, italic, bullet lists, inline code, and links. Bare URLs typed or pasted into the description convert to clickable links automatically. Edits auto-save five seconds after you stop typing or immediately when you click away.

Per-task undo and redo. Each task has its own undo/redo history stored in your browser's localStorage. Use the ↩ and ↪ buttons in the task panel header to step back or forward through name and description changes. Up to 10 undo steps per task. This history is local to your device and not synced.

Auto Saved indicator. A persistent green "Auto Saved" label in the header confirms every successful save. You never need to press a save button.

Due dates. Set a due date on any task using the date picker in the task panel. The card on the board shows a live status badge: red "Overdue" if the date has passed, amber "Today", orange for Tomorrow or within three days, or a plain date for anything further out.

Checklists. Break a task into sub-steps in the Checklist section. Check items off as you complete them — the task card shows a live "X/Y ✓" progress badge that turns green when all items are done. Checklist text is included in search.

Archive with 7-day auto-delete. Hover a task card and click the archive icon to move it to the Archived column. Archived tasks are automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days. The "Deleted in Xd" label appears on each archived card, turning orange within 4 days and red within 2 days. Unarchive any task before the deadline to prevent deletion. The archive column header shows "auto-deletes in 7 days" as a reminder.

Search across all tasks. The search bar in the header filters tasks by name, description, and checklist text across all columns including Archived. Non-matching tasks are hidden.

Drag tasks between columns. Drag any task card to a different column or reorder within the same column. An amber drop line shows where the task will land.

Export and import backup. Click ··· in the header to access Import, Export, and Folder backup options. Export creates a ZIP archive of all projects, columns, and tasks. For large boards the export splits into multiple ZIP files automatically. Import reassembles everything from the ZIP files.

Mini Kanban is designed for developers, freelancers, and solo workers who need a lightweight task board without the overhead of Jira, Linear, or Trello. No workspace setup, no inviting teammates, no billing. Use it alongside the Daily Focus Log for full daily workflow coverage — kanban for project tracking, focus log for day-by-day recording and standup generation. The Freelance Dashboard combines both tools with GitHub Gist sync.
